My Life Story continued…4 parts

1. One day I didn’t want to do any chores so I stayed. I was reported by the station hand to the manager (J.Deplledge ) . He told me and my mother to get out of the station. So Mum packed our swag and we walked to the turnoff accompanied by our red collie dog. We camped the night at Sandfire, we walked towards Anna Plains Station, as we walked over the sand dunes we walked to a windmill called “Warden” where there was a station hand fixing the windmill accompanied by my Uncle. They gave me and my Mother a ride into Anna Plains Station. We stayed there for a week then we journeyed into the LaGrange mission.

2. I was forcefully placed in the dormitory and school, which had a set of rules with the assimilation Act 1905 with one of the rules being we couldn’t go and visit our families at the village camp.

3. After completing year 10 in La Grange mission I attended Derby Senior High School. The principal at the time was John Clarke. I resided at St Joseph’s hostel in Derby. I stayed until after Easter and I was transferred to Broome Campus Christian Brothers College. I completed year 11 then got expelled which led me to Wallal Station where I worked in the sheep and cattle industry. Later on I went back to La Grange Mission.
