Cat#: 13-413

This painting depicts Kulyakartu, an area in the far north of the Martu homelands, near the Percival Lakes in the northern Great Sandy Desert. The artist has extensive knowledge of the country in this region. He grew up living traditionally during the pujiman (bush) days with his family. The artist says this work is “after a little bit of rain, little bit of yukurri (green)”.

Martumili Artists works across an extremely large geographical area. As such there is limited capacity to reach each community on a regular basis. While Martumili Artists supports Karntimarta Artists in Warralong, the artists paint largely independently.

By purchasing these works you are supporting Warralong artists in building a positive and sustainable arts practice. This purchase will help Martumili Artists support Kartinmarta Artists and other community outreach programs.

All works are affordably priced and have been painted on unstretched, pre-primed canvas.
